While stress is a normal part of life, too much of it can be detrimental to your health. The PRIME Team can appreciate this; we\u2019re going through it, too. So, we thought we\u2019d take some time to offer ideas of things we\u2019re doing to help regulate our own physical and emotional pressures. Look for a relaxation method that works for you and practice this approach as needed. Many of our team members have turned to meditation or deep breathing techniques and found them to be beneficial. Other ideas include spending time in nature, closing your eyes and enjoying the moment, or tuning out adversity by tuning in some favorite music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>ASSESS YOUR STRESS   <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Some events carry with them a sense of urgency, but currently everything feels like it requires immediate action. Take inventory of the things on your plate and determine which ones take priority. We all want to stay busy, but that can be overwhelming. Some things can wait \u2013 for tomorrow or next week or whenever you feel up to them. Do what you can and remind yourself that it\u2019s okay to extend your own deadlines for backburner projects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>WRITE IT OUT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-medium\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"300\" height=\"182\" src=\"https:\/\/www.primeadvertising.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Journaling-4-300x182.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7739\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.primeadvertising.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Journaling-4-300x182.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.primeadvertising.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Journaling-4-1024x621.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.primeadvertising.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Journaling-4-768x466.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.primeadvertising.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Journaling-4-1536x932.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.primeadvertising.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Journaling-4-2048x1243.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If your head feels overcrowded with thoughts and emotions, write or type them out. Transfer those ideas and feelings into words to better help process them. Try detailing your concerns in a daily writing exercise but also include a gratitude statement. Get ideas out of your brain so your mind will know it\u2019s okay to let them go and remember to be happy for something every day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>FIXATE ON FUN<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Simply put, do things you enjoy or perhaps take up a new hobby:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Get your art fix.<\/strong> Artistic activities are especially ideal if you have children. They\u2019re likely stressed, too. Be creative together by completing a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"string art project (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thesprucecrafts.com\/string-art-1791403\" target=\"_blank\">string art project<\/a> or start your own <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"painted stone (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.parentmap.com\/article\/painted-rocks-treasure-hunt-kid-craze\" target=\"_blank\">painted stone<\/a> adventure and anonymously spread kindness throughout your community. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Decorate your windows and doors (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/03\/26\/world\/window-hope-messages-trnd\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Decorate your windows and doors<\/a> with colorful rainbows and heart cutouts to make your neighbors smile.<\/li><li><strong>Exercise.<\/strong> If you have a daily workout routine, keep it up. Otherwise, perhaps now would be a great time to start walking, biking, or jogging. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Physical activity (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/adaa.org\/understanding-anxiety\/related-illnesses\/other-related-conditions\/stress\/physical-activity-reduces-st?gclid=CjwKCAjwpqv0BRABEiwA-TySwXeJpln6VWhH6zDCrOugf83Ee7qJO2sf4UsDzNqVqwqb3DsBCvPzbBoCZZIQAvD_BwE\" target=\"_blank\">Physical activity<\/a> reduces the body\u2019s stress hormones and produces endorphins, which act as natural painkillers and mood stimulators.<\/li><li><strong>Dive into a book.<\/strong> Pick up new <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"reading material (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.primeadvertising.com\/blog\/2019\/08\/celebration-of-book-love\/\" target=\"_blank\">reading material<\/a> or revisit a favorite title or series and relax. Studies show that reading as little as six minutes a day can <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"reduce stress (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/articles.aplus.com\/a\/reading-6-minutes-each-day-reduce-stress-68-percent?no_monetization=true\" target=\"_blank\">reduce stress<\/a> levels by almost 70 percent. <\/li><li><strong>Take a museum tour (or twelve).<\/strong> Thanks to Google Arts &amp; Culture, you can travel the world and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"visit a dozen museums (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.travelandleisure.com\/attractions\/museums-galleries\/museums-with-virtual-tours\" target=\"_blank\">visit a dozen museums<\/a>, such as London\u2019s British Museum of New York\u2019s Guggenheim, without leaving home.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>DON\u2019T FORGET TO SMILE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter which stress-reducing avenue you decide to pursue, remember to smile. The simple act of smiling is shown to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"improve your mood (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/better\/health\/smiling-can-trick-your-brain-happiness-boost-your-health-ncna822591\" target=\"_blank\">improve your mood<\/a> by tricking your brain into happiness. Take this one step further and find a funny video or movie and enjoy a good laugh. As it turns out, laughter really is the best medicine because it helps people cope with difficult situations and helps alleviate some of the physical symptoms of stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If this unpredictable time has shown us anything, it\u2019s that everyone experiences stress.
