Web Videos Can Make a Big Difference For Small Business
There are many tools that plenty of small business owners feel are out of their reach. Sometimes it’s a budget issue and sometimes its a technical issue that holds them back. Web videos are definitely one of them. The truth is, for the value and the impact a web video can provide it is a very cost effective and valuable tool for spreading your desired message.
So what is the value of posting a video on your website? Tremendous. With a video of about 1 to 2 minutes you can show who you are, why your different and what you can do for your customers. Instead of hoping they read your content and understand it correctly, a video broadcasts your message using sight, sound and motion. These three things help create emotion and that is what a consumer or client needs to engage with you.
How can any small business accomplish this? A big first step is to look at possible creative or video companies to produce the video (like Prime’s video services). They should be able to show you other web and offline videos they have created for companies. Having a professionally produced video is key as you pay to have it done once, but it plays on your website over and over again without further cost. A web video can also be updated with a new segment to keep it fresh as well so you don’t have to pay for a full production twice.
What should be the video content? The two most common videos we do for clients are company overviews and customer testimonials. The company overview video is a great way to help your customers understand who you are, your experience, your process, your difference and more. It creates a visual that sticks with them. The other most common format is a customer testimonial. We have all seen the testimonial page on a website with 10 different quotes … how many of those are read? With a video testimonial you can present what your customers have to say, video of what you completed for them and bring a human element to your endorsement.
Below is a company overview video we produced for Wooddale Builders, a luxury custom home builder in MN. This video appears on their home page in the lower right corner and they also have testimonial videos on their website.
Here are some other web videos we have created for clients:
- Evolving Solutions Education & Events video
- Evolving Solutions Support & Service video
- Opportunity Services video testimonial
