A Blog That Will Be Missed: Bat-Girl.com Retiring

Bat Girl on MN TwinsI have linked here to Bat-Girl.com before, a phenomenal baseball blog unlike any other that delivers "more sass, less stats" on the Minnesota Twins.  Well Bat Girl has posted that due to her new adventure in motherhood she has to hang up the cleats and the keyboard.  Instead of scaling back her posts, giving them less time or focus, she decided that walking away while on top was best.  I applaud her move.

As a parent of two, I definitely know the time it takes to raise your kids … and as a blogger as well, I know the time it can take from your schedule. I will miss her blog and all of the great angles, stories and creativity she brought weekly, it really was one of a kind.  If you don’t believe me, just check out the final post and take the time to read the 370+ (and growing in just 2 days) comments from readers thanking her and wishing her well … and many begging for her to come back soon.  Many are fans of other teams, but as baseball fans, they love her writing.

So I stopped and thought for a second … would even 37 people comment, must less 370,  if I retired the Prime Blog?  Not a chance … I mean not yet, but I think that keeping that in mind when writing posts is a good thing.  Blogging with the dedication to be worth remembering, to provide something worth being missed, can only push me to excel.

Thank you Bat-Girl.

  1. I was bummed to see she was shutting down her blog. She was a blast to read and a true Twins fan!

And don’t worry, I’d comment if you retired so you know you’ll have at least one. :)
