Need a Website or Web Redesign? Here is Our Process.
I get a lot of phone calls and emails asking "How do we go about designing a website with Prime or finding out what we need to do?". Every website we build here at Prime is custom to your situation, so the first step is learning your specific needs (basic, content management, e-commerce, databases). So here is our normal process and some of the info and services you get at these steps.
1. Analyze Your Needs - We dig into what your business or organization is about in a discovery meeting with you. Who is your target audience? What are your key services or products? What are your successes? What are your challenges? Where do you see you going? What do your customers need online? What do you need to accomplish online? These are just a few of the questions we ask in this FREE 60 to 90 minute meeting. At worst, you walk away with a ton of great info from our web experts. Most walk away very excited to see a proposal from us!
2. Agree on a Proposal - Research is conducted on your industry, competitors, your outlined needs and we create a fixed cost proposal. We give you our best recommendation to address your website needs and give those services an exact cost. The proposal is tweaked until it is agreeable to both sides. These pages, these hours and these functionalities … for this exact price.
3. Collect Content - The project manager puts together a working document letting you know what we need of you, your homework. Photos, content, processes and schedules to complete specific project aspects. You know what is expected of you … so get your homework done junior!
4. Build Design - Your key staff members and our web team meet in a creative meeting to address layout and design elements your project will need. Our design team leaves this meeting with a great idea of what you and more importantly, your site users, need to see. A mock is created, tweaks are made and a "look and feel" is finalized. The design is sliced, CSS created and we start building pages and programming functionalities at a BETA site.
5. Review Results - You are able to see your site coming to life at a BETA address and we
can work with you to round out the site without meeting face to face. The project manager is in constant contact with you for needs, timelines and to answer questions you may have.
6. Tweak The Details - Finishing touches and technical info get squared away and we schedule a "go LIVE" date for your site. Yeah!
7. Publish - Send it LIVE for the world to see and use.
What I just outlined is a VERY condensed version of our web process with MANY details left out, but it’s good enough to give you an idea. Our web team is a passionate, talented and experienced group that provides a lot of attention and skills to your project. Give us a holler, we’d be happy to get this process rolling for you or view a few of our example web projects.
