SEO Knowledge: Learning at High Rankings

We’re just starting day two at High Rankings Search Engine Optimization seminar and day one was great.  The group size is only about 80 so you get to ask more questions and get great personal attention during breaks and lunch.  Speakers yesterday covered some good SEO basics that are always smart to review and a few new things came across our minds.  Jeff and I had some good discussions on what we can tweak in our SEO approach to gain a bit more leverage for our clients.  By far and away the two most valuable speakers were:

  • Lee Odden on blogging, social media and pr effecting SEO.
  • Karon Thackston on copywriting.  Great push of writing content for the user first and foremost.  Prime has a FABULOUS copywriter and it is worth every penny to use this service for your website.

Here are a few photos from yesterday off my phone (Treo).  The end of yesterdays classes came to a close with all of the speakers up front answering questions.  It was the highlight of the day, having that level and spread of SEO expertise grouped together breaking down questions.

On a closing note, we stayed at The Marquette Hotel in Minneapolis last night, one of our great clients.  I can honestly say I have never slept on a better bed at a hotel before … great hotel, you should give them a shot next time you stay downtown.

  3. An off the wall question for you - I have a Treo phone, too, and I can’t seem to get my pictures from my phone to my PC. Am I missing something obvious?

Anyhow, it sounds like a great conference!

  4. Char- Thanks, it was good brain food on SEO. As far as the Treo, do you have Palm OS? That’s what I have and you can either email the photo (via sprint) to get it or transfer them to your Palm Desktop. Hope that helps!
